Jumping In - Lifeproof Case Underwater
I have kids and they love to use my iPhone (and drop it), so when I updated my phone back in March, I decided to get the Lifeproof case. I needed something durable that could stand up to my kids abuse, but I also really liked that it was waterproof. It meant I could have it with me every where; pool, rain, sand dunes, color runs, etc. and not have to worry about damaging yet another expensive phone. It has been awesome! I've been able to take it places I wouldn't dream of taking my expensive gear and still get fantastic pictures. The iPhone 5 has a great camera for documenting everyday life with my kids. I still use the "real" cameras, but I would have never been able to get these shots without my phone and a Lifeproof case. Well, I could, but it would have required an even more expensive case for my Nikon D800. But as they say, the best camera is the one you have with you :)
The very first time I worked up the nerve to actually submerge my phone was the first time my kids swam this summer and I got this. It's not perfectly in focus, but it did capture an awesome moment. This photograph was also featured by Lifeproof as their "Photo of the Week" the last week of June 2013.
My daughter's school had color run and if you didn't know, the colored powder they use gets every where and can destroy a lens, so I opted not to bring my big camera, plus I was volunteering to throw the dye all over the kids, so it would have been in the way. Luckily, I had my handy iPhone in the Lifeproof case with me. No damage to the sensitive areas of my phone and I managed to snap this. Not amazing, but a totally great moment and memory for my daughter.
I could show you a million other awesome underwater pictures, but I'll spare you here and continue to spam my Facebook friends with them. I love my Lifeproof case.
